If celebrities like actor Arron Villaflor can have his vehicle stolen by armed crooks in broad daylight on March 8, 2014 (Saturday) in the middle of busy area of Metro Manila here in the Philippines, can ordinary citizens still feel safe? 

Where are our "leaders", the so-called "public servants" sworn and tasked to uphold peace and order, the rule of law and social harmony in our land? What are they doing? Wake up, please!

Actor Arron Villafor’s van stolen by armed men in Quezon City

A van belonging to actor Arron Villaflor was carjacked by armed men on Saturday along Quezon Avenue in Quezon City.
A report from the Anti-Carnapping Unit of the Quezon City Police District said the incident happened at around 4PM.

Villaflor was not at the scene when the armed men took his Toyota Super Grandia with plate number TW4208.

The police said Jeffrey John Valdez, Villaflor’s driver, was inside the car waiting for the actor’s sister who was inside a bookstore when the two suspects approached and poked a gun at him. The two ordered him to unlock the doors and they commandeered the vehicle.

Then one of the suspects took the wheel while the other one ordered Valdez to lie face down on the floor of the car while traveling. Valdez told police investigators he overheard the one driving talking to someone on his mobile phone and mentioning the name “Niknok”.

After less than 30 minutes, the car stopped and he was told to strip off all his clothes. He was ordered to get out of the car at the Mindanao Avenue-North Luzon Expressway interchange where he was found naked by patrolling NLEX security.

Villaflor’s sister, Nikki, told investigator that she was about to exit the bookstore’smain door when she saw two armed men enter the vehicle. She decided not to get out, sensing danger.

The police were still investigating the incident.

Villaflor is an ABS-CBN talent who last appeared regularly on the TV series “Juan de la Cruz” last year.

MANILA, Philippines - One of the Philippines’ smartest, popular and most well-read showbiz stars, megastar Sharon Cuneta Pangilinan of TV5, and her husband Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan last Oct. 27 celebrated the third birthday and Christian dedication of their adopted son Miguel Samuel Mateo Pangilinan at the Blue Leaf Events Pavilion, McKinley Hills in Taguig City. His legal adoption was completed last year.

The name Miguel came from St. Michael the archangel, their daughter Frankie also liked the name Samuel, and Sharon herself also liked the name Mateo, so that became the son’s full name: Miguel Samuel Mateo Cuneta Pangilinan.

One of Sharon’s closest friends, actress Judy Ann Santos, also has her own adopted child. In fact, it was Judy Ann’s husband Ryan Agoncillo who talked to Kiko Pangilinan about Sharon’s plan to adopt a son. Both Juday and Ryan are among the godparents of Miguel.

NEWS!!! Sting's Philippine concert on Dec. 9, 2012 transferred to Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City---instead of SM MOA Arena---due to legal dispute over 182 trees in Baguio City

The official website of superstar singer Sting has announced that his one-night Philippine concert on December 9, 2012 will now be held at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City, Metro Manila instead of the original venue SM MOA Arena near the Manila Bay area.

The environmentalist pop star Sting reportedly cancelled the concert at the original venue due to an on-going court case between environmental activists and SM MOA Arena's sister firm SM Baguio mall over 182 trees that would be affected by the expansion of SM Baguio.

Sting's official website had this statement: 

Local promoters Ovation Productions confirmed today that the Sting: Back to Bass concert previously scheduled at the Mall of Asia Arena will now be held at the Araneta Coliseum. There is no change to the show date, which remains Sunday, December 9th, 2012.

Back to Bass features Sting performing many of his greatest hits, stripped down, with a 5-piece band featuring his longtime guitarist Dominic Miller, Vinnie Colaiuta (drums), David Sancious (keyboards) Peter Tickell (electric fiddle), and Jo Lawry (vocals).

Tickets may be exchanged beginning October 25, 2012.

How to exchange concert tickets?

Fans who had previously purchased a reserved seat ticket will receive a reserved ticket for the new venue. Reserved seat tickets have been carefully reassigned so that fans that had a reserved ticket at the MOAA will receive a comparable reserved ticket in the new venue.

Beginning Thursday, October 25th there will be a special window at the Ticketnet Office located at the Araneta Coliseum that will handle all ticket exchanges. Fans may exchange their tickets up to and including show date but we recommend that this be done in advance to avoid lengthy queues.

If a refund is required due to the change in venue, these tickets must be refunded at SM Tickets no later than Sunday, November 18, 2012.
